ENGINEERING JOBS
Role: HSE Specialist- GOM (Full-Time)
Overview:
-Promote a risk-based approach to HSE management, including coordination or participation in high risk contractor HSE audits and reviews, development of contractor HSE bridging documents and assessment of contractor training and competency.
-Lead initiatives to promote visible and pro-active HSE leadership through involvement in offshore site HSE visits, participation in safety meeting presentations and coordination of semi-annual contractor HSE workshops.
-Review contractor training and competency assessments, identify specific gaps, provide specialized training and or facilitate specialized training where needed.
-Lead the behavior based safety program trending and analysis, provide emergency response support, and participate in incident investigations
-BA in Engineering or a Science Degree preferred but not necessary
-Specialized HSE Certifications are a plus but not necessary
-Minimum of 8yrs experience in a HSE discipline – E&P preferred
-Understanding of GOM regulations is necessary
-Travel-up to 20%
PURPOSE
The main purpose of this role will be promotion of Zero Harm through the development and implementation of a broad range of HSE work practices and procedures, and verification that these practices and procedures are effective. The incumbent will foster a strong HSE culture and stimulate line ownership of HSE within the PU, ensuring that HSE risks are identified and controlled according to Company and Petroleum HSE standards, policies and practices.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
-Implement and monitor compliance with the Petroleum HSE Management system within GoM Production Unit, with a strong focus on contractor safety management
-Implement assigned responsibilities as outlined in the HSE Work Plan
-Support the implementation and achievement of HSE Objectives and performance targets for the PU.
-Monitor the effectiveness of all assigned HSE programs, procedures and practices
-Provide specialist HSE advice, assistance and support to line managers and supervisors, with an emphasis on site operations.
-Liaise with the HSE team and operating groups to ensure effective use of industry best practices, participate in external industry associations and committees to stay current with industry activity and trends.

-Participate as an active member of the GoM PU emergency response team and provide HSE support to the field emergency response teams.
-Coordinate the behavioural based observation program (STOP) and analyse data trends for continuous improvement.
-Support regulatory compliance by tracking of regulatory changes with the potential to impact operations, align HSE programs to ensure compliance with SEMS and other applicable requirements.
-Lead initiatives to promote visible and pro-active HSE leadership through involvement in offshore site HSE visits, participation in safety meeting presentations and coordination of semi-annual contractor HSE workshops.
-Review contractor training and competency assessments, identify specific gaps, provide specialized training and facilitate specialized training where needed.
-Conduct or participate in periodic internal HSE audits and inspections, formal incident reviews and support the preparation of supporting HSE documentation.
-Ensure that HSE performance data is effectively collected, stored, analysed, tracked and reported according to internal procedure and regulatory requirement.
