- Organize and manage all aspects of the workload of piping engineering, within the parameters of a project schedule
- Establish a list of discipline deliverables. Control, monitor and progress these deliverables to an agreed schedule
- Able to work on pipe stress calculations
- Ensure that recognized engineering practices are applicable to piping design are adopted
- Prepare piping materials and valve specifications and ensure that they meet required standards
- Able to liaise with members of other disciplines and departments
- Training and development of personnel
- Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance System relevant to the location and the projects
- Safety – Responsible for personal safety working practices for the location. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.
Desired Skills & Experience
- At least 8 years piping engineering experience in the upstream and downstream hydrocarbon and chemical industries
- A thorough knowledge of the codes and standards and a good understanding of engineering practices applicable to equipment layout and piping design for upstream and downstream hydrocarbon and Chemical facilities
- Extensive design experience related to piping engineering, piping stress, piping supports, equipment layout and detailed piping design within the hydrocarbon and Chemical industry
- Relevant experience of the associated engineering disciplines of Metallurgy, Mechanical, Structural and Process Systems would be beneficial
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from a recognized university
- Be able to understand and follow OH&S procedures. Able to establish safe working practices, if necessary
