Air Energi is seeking a Principal Structural Designer to join a leading EPC company in London on a permanent basis.
The selected candidate will provide technical leadership in the preparation of CAD drawings in accordance with contractual requirements and procedures and standards. They will also prepare and check CAD models and drawings and estimate progress of design and manage a man-hour budget on a project.
Responsibilities and tasks will include:

The selected candidate will provide technical leadership in the preparation of CAD drawings in accordance with contractual requirements and procedures and standards. They will also prepare and check CAD models and drawings and estimate progress of design and manage a man-hour budget on a project.

Present the attributes of the CAD system to assist in winning work.
Plan and manage the drawing production task on a project.
Estimate man-hours required to perform design tasks.
Identify and solve detailing problems in design.
Manage a design budget to execute a scope of work.
Record and communicate decisions to the team.
Take responsibility and 'own' the team's work.
Train junior staff on the team.
Manage conflict when encountered.
Input to company standards and procedures.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Principal Structural Designer who has worked in a contractor's design office in the offshore industry. This may include jackets, topsides, floating or subsea structures. Previous experience with a steel fabricator or in a construction yard would also be beneficial. The selected candidate must have experience of PDMS design and draft version 11.6 or later and a recent version of AutoCAD.
