One of our large major clients has an opening for a Project Accounting Lead (Corporate).
SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:
The incumbent provides guidance and oversight designed to enhance the efficient processing and accounting for project costs and is expected to exercise a high level of personal initiative and judgment in organizing and directing the accounting and controls activities associated with project costs outside the scope of the EPCM contract. Reviews project agreements and identifies clauses that entail the capture and possibly allocation of financial information. Oversees the design of systems and procedures that ensure the accurate and complete capture of such data. Designs reports as appropriate. Primary interface between the Project and the NE Controllers Department with the responsibility to identify synergy opportunities while developing an encompassing accounting system to meet LCP requirements.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor of Business Administration/Commerce degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience, as well as a professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA.)
Experience:
- Experience in multi-currency environment providing financial reporting and analysis, business process development, system administration and financial and accounting controls.
- Minimum often (10) years experience on large resource development projects or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Special Skills, Job Requirements, Working Conditions:
- Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity to safety, health and environmental issues.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Good leadership and communication skills.
- Coordination of staff, including planning and reporting on accounting scope and deliverables.
- Expert working knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), current standards and emerging issues.
- Excellent working knowledge of JD Edwards is desirable.
- Self starting, proactive individual.
- Ability to work minimal management direction.
- Develop programs and objectives to meet the general objectives of LCP.
- Team player, with positive attitude.
- Strong, written and verbal communication skills.
