Urgent Vacancy: Hebron GBS Planning Engineer

Come join Air Energi in this 2 year contract. You will be providing services in connection with the development of the Hebron Project, one of Newfoundland and Labrador's Oil and Gas Developments. Our client is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Hebron GBS Planning Engineer to be located in St. John's.

Job function:
The Gravity Based Structure (GBS) Front End Engineering & Design (FEED)/Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) Planner/Scheduler is responsible for the overall GBS FEED/EPC program planning development, control and reporting. This person:
- Reviews, analyses, and assists main contractors with plans and schedules, reporting methods, and progress monitoring.
- Maintains the GBS FEED / EPC integrated schedule with input to the Project's integrated schedule.
- Assists the Controls Lead with change management activities


Responsibilities and duties:
1. Provide overall project schedule, progress measurement, and change management leadership and expertise
- Participate in kick-off meetings with the EPC contractor and Project Management Team (PMT) to ensure common understanding of planning, estimating, reporting, and change management requirements
- Cooperate with Independent Project Review (IPR) teams and post audit activities with respect to project services functions
- Maintain close liaison with members of the Sub-project and Home Office services organizations
- Ensure that appropriate Contractor project controls staffing levels and controls tools are employed by the EPC Contractor
- Coordinate, monitor, and assess Contractor's efforts in project planning, sampling to assure Quality.
- Steward the EPC contractor's project control organization with respect to:
-Schedule development, control, progress measurement, and forecasting
- Advise the EPC contractor's organization with respect to:
-Project controls tools and reports
-Contractor's efforts in schedule
- Conduct briefing sessions for project team members with respect to project control requirements and processes
- Participate in gathering and recording lessons learned for the project
- Assist in Change Management

2. Supporting PMT and Schedule Stewards with ongoing project schedule analysis, reporting, forecasting, and Change Management.
- Develop/maintain integrated schedules for internal review purposes including analysis, forecasting, and management reporting
- Prepare weekly/monthly planning report information
- Chair/attend meetings relevant to scheduling, or others areas, as required
- Assist Project Controls Lead as and when required
- Maintain ongoing schedule opportunity /vulnerability database
- Provide functional management with schedule support as needed

3. Monitoring and appraising the performance of Contractor's Site in the areas of progress and schedule control.
- Examine and evaluate the Contractor's schedule control organization, plans, performance and procedures
- Work with EPC Contractor to ensure schedules meet the requirements of the Client and Control Expectations
- Assist EPC Contractor where necessary with scheduling and controls function; provide data to contractor to aid in scheduling efforts
- Review schedule bases of contractor's Change Proposals - review and endorse Change
- Assist site management in developing/reviewing schedule corrective actions and recovery plans, and making sure needed actions/plans are implemented.
- Develop and maintain appropriate reporting media

4. Maintain regular contact with Cost and Schedule organization in the Sub-project teams, Home Office, and with the Functional Organization.
- Maintain close liaison with planning engineers in the Sub-project teams, Home Office, and Function
- Provide direction and feedback to Sub-project/Home Office planning and control engineers on schedule aspects of the project

Required KNOWLEDGE, qualifications, skills, and experiences:
- Experience with Offshore structures and principles of Engineer, Construction, and Commissioning
- Knowledge of Engineering, Procurement, and Contracting strategies
- Team player able to work with others of different disciplines
- Able to travel as necessary
- Extensive experience and working knowledge of scheduling software, preferably Primavera 6
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business Administration with relevant experience preferred
- 10+ years minimum experience in Offshore Oil and Gas Industry in a Project Management role, mainly in planning and scheduling
- Knowledge of ExxonMobil practices, processes, and expectations with respect to project controls is an asset
