ROV Technical Support Engineer – West Division

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To liaise regularly with personnel operating Hallin WROV systems and assist with all technical issues and inquiries.
  • General Technical responsibility for Hallin WROV systems.
  • To ensure that WROV maintenance records are accurately logged.
  • To reduce costs involved with spares and repairs for all Hallin WROV systems.
  • Assist offshore personnel with any technical issues that may arise.
  • Assist Project Management Team with project specific system equipment specification / selection as required.
  • Assist with planning/scheduling for WROV related workshop activities including maintenance and repair as required.
  • Ensure system manuals are updated within the Technical Library and WROV systems.
  • Ensure planned maintenance routines are reviewed and updated to accommodate new or modified equipment.
  • Provide technical advice to inter departmental teams.
  • Provide detailed progress reports on any maintenance and repair including technical status and technical variations on a weekly basis to the Asset Manager.
  • Responsible for ensuring adequate system reporting is undertaken throughout WROV project life cycles and acted upon when WROV systems return to base.
  • Advise the Assets Manager of foreseeable personnel & technical problems that may arise.
  • Assist with the implementation of suitable management controls / systems and procedures for ROV systems.
  • Ensure system hardware and faulty parts are managed correctly.
  • Ensure ROV systems are continually maintained to a high standard.
  • Ensure that WROV system inventories are managed and correctly updated as required.
  • Ensure that offshore personnel are fully supported with any technical issues that may arise.
  • Work closely with Purchasing Department to reduce costs involved with WROV spares and repairs.
  • Provide technical assistance to project and commercial teams as required.
  • Develop working relationships with all staff and contractors.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED
At least 5 years experience working with Work Class ROV systems (WROV), either onshore or offshore, preferably with Soil Machine Dynamics (SMD) vehicles.
