Come join Air Energi and our EPCM client in this one year (renewable) contract to be located in St. John's, Newfoundland.

Reporting to the Mechanical Outfitting Engineering Manager, the Technical Safety Design Lead will provide support to the GBS design team on the development of philosophies and technical design of all safety systems required during engineering and construction of the GBS.


Specific Responsibilities include:
- Lead and/or participate in the process and follow up actions from GBS design hazard assessments (HAZID/HAZOP)
- Development of philosophies and detail engineering documentation related to safety design. Particular areas include temporary safety systems required for marine operations and field construction activities. Ensure implementation of applicable codes and standards in GBS safety design.
- Ensure that constructability and special requirements from construction and marine operations are addressed in the design work.
- Interface and provide technical input with Topsides contract with qualitative/ quantitative risk analysis. Evaluate and implement in the design input from Topsides contractor with respect to design accidental loads related to dropped objects, fire and explosions etc.

Candidates are required to have an engineering degree or engineering diploma in a related discipline. Candidates must have previous experience in GBS safety design role, must have extensive knowledge of technical safety design for temporary safety systems for construction and/or marine construction activities, preferably for Gravity Based Structures. Candidates must have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within an integrated project team.

The successful candidate will have a recognized Degree in Engineering and experience in CA Coordination.
