My client, an engineering company specializing in the design and manufacture of pressure vessels & heat exchangers to the Oil & Gas & Mining industries is currently seeking an experience estimator to join their fabrication team located in Kewdale.
 
Reporting to the sales manager, your responsibilities will include;
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals and other documentation to prepare time cost, and labour estimates for products, projects, or services, applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principles, or processes.
  • Review data to determine material and labour requirements and prepare itemized lists.
  •  Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for management purposes, such as planning, organizing and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining costs effectiveness.
  •  Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Provide technical support in tender evaluations.
  • Prepare material estimates for steel fabrication projects.
  •  Liaise effectively with clients re aspects of tenders & estimates.
  • Work closely with the sales team and provide details of estimating activities.
 
To be successful in this position, you will ideally have;
  • Relevant pressure vessel and heat exchanger exposure and experience.
  • Solid communication skills both written & verbal.
  • Computer Literate
  • Experience in fabrication.
  • Background in engineering.
  • Ability to work both autonomously & as a team member.
