1. Review of following data to comprehend scope:
- Inspection reports
- Previous replacement history
- Failure analyses and equipment maintenance history
- Mechanical specifications
- Risk assessment studies and root- cause analyses
- Process and operational history
2. Define checks for establishing mechanical integrity based on NDT's
3. Collect performance/ operational data and evaluate current performance
- Critical of equipment on plant service and capacity factor
- Estimation of average life
- Lead time involved in manufacturing of a specific equipment
