Chevron IndoAsia Strategic Business Unit is accepting online applications for the position of Reservoir Simulation Engineer – Minas Surfactant Project (MSP) located in Minas, Indonesia.

Overview:The Minas Surfactant Project (MSP) Team is responsible for the development and implementation of Surfactant/Polymer EOR flooding in the Minas field in Sumatra Indonesia. This position is a team member of a major capital project group that is developing advanced Chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery Pilot Projects designed to prove the feasibility of Chemical EOR flooding at Minas.

Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
  • Team member of a major capital project group that is developing advanced Chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery Pilot Projects designed to prove the feasibility of Chemical EOR flooding at Minas.
  • Technical leadership and strong coordination responsibility with Houston Offsite ETC teams.
  • This position seeks an expert reservoir simulation engineer capable of mentoring with the primary responsibility for reservoir simulation development, history matching, projections and maintenance for Surfactant Polymer pilot projects.
  • Execution and evaluation of Surfactant Field Trial in late stage.
  • Surfactant Polymer Flood evaluation in Q1-2013 critical for future CEOR investment decisions, including accelerated expansion programs for Surfactant Polymer floods, including the Area "A" Surfactant Polymer expansion project that will determine full field CEOR implementation.
  • Polymer Field Trial and the Surfactant Polymer Area expansion will be conducted concurrently with the execution & analysis.
  • Secondary tasks include Minas EOR full field development analysis including reserve estimations, production forecasting, business planning submissions, support for EOR drilling, completion, production, and injection facility design, and optimizing tracer tests and chemical volumes.
  • Major Capital Project experience beneficial.

    Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree or Higher Degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline.
  • Strong fundamentals and work experience in reservoir simulation and engineering for history matching, prediction and compositional modeling.
  • Experience running chemical reservoir simulation in Chears is desired. Good knowledge of pressure testing analysis, material balance, production forecast, decline analysis, recovery mechanisms, and phase behavior analysis is Critical.
  • Capable of working with multiple discipline professionals including Minas Surfactant Project (MSP) team, Minas RMT, ETC teams, and BPMIGAS technical professionals. Mentoring National PE's in advanced simulation techniques is a critical job responsibility.
  • Chemical EOR and associated reservoir simulation is a non-routine frontier type effort. The candidate should have strong self motivation to learn and expand knowledge. The candidate will also be accountable for completing assignments and delivering high quality results on schedule. Critical
  • Experience & knowledge in reservoir simulation using uncertainty analysis, experimental design and GOCAD beneficial. Additional experience in production engineering such as well completion, logging analysis, DST or MDT analysis, Lab testing including PVT and Core Analyses beneficial.
