Drilling Supervisor

Responsibilities:
  • Directly supervises engineers assigned to his/her group.
  • Provides cost estimates and development planning for drilling and completion activities.
  • Coordinates presentations, routine reports and meetings on behalf of Company.
  • Directly responsible for development of the best available technology for use in drilling operations.
  • Insures that Drilling and Completion integrated management requirements are included in the work programs, operations manuals, etc.
  • Establishes priorities, schedules, and reviews work done by engineers in his group.
  • Establishes priority for manpower allocation to specific operations in his group consistent with accomplishment of overall objectives.
  • Develops drilling and completion performance goals and shares responsibility of meeting these goals.
  • Responsible for preparation of drilling, completion and testing programs and for close coordination with venture or affiliate personnel.
  • Closely follows up on drilling, completion and WO/WS experience and develops procedures and applications for technology improvement.
  • Follows up on specific operational problems in his area of responsibility to establish and implement procedures required to minimize the chance for recurrence.
  • Proposes training required for his staff and coordinates for engineering and operational staff.
  • Responsible for preparation of final well reports.
  • Regularly visits operation to determine drilling program efficiency and the use of appropriate technology.
Requirements:
  • Requires a university degree (S1/bachelor/master degree) in engineering in similar position in the oil and gas industry
  • Considerable experience with drilling and workover 
  • Completion operations; +/-10 years of such experience
  • Next to the extensive knowledge in drilling techniques, systems, procedures and standards (i.e. International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC)'s guide-line, American Petroleum Institute (API)'s state-of-the-art broad references).
