Job Description

Based in our London offices we currently have a career opportunity for a Principal Structural Engineer to join us in a staff role. This is an exciting opportunity to further develop your career in an organization where we believe people are vital to our success.

In this role you will provide technical offshore expertise, leadership and supervision of same discipline staff on projects and work and supervise others to ensure that offshore engineering is carried out in accordance with SNC-Lavalin UK procedures and contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities of this role will include, undertaking specialist offshore structural analysis and design in accordance with company procedures and project requirements and supervise design engineers and oversight of design capability where essential for project deliverables.

This role will have responsibility for the co-ordination of CAD, engineering, DC and other resource within a project team and preparing technical aspects of contract documentation for civil and structural works related primarily to the design of Jackets at expert level as well as providing technical input to tender clarification and evaluation work.

Additional responsibilities will be to attend Client meetings to ensure understanding of scope and issues arising related to this are resolved appropriately and as required assist with preparation of cost and man-hour estimates for proposals and project workscope.

Desired Skills & Experience

You will be degree Qualified in Civil/Structural related topics and have acquired chartered status with extensive experience within the industry with at least 10+ years Oil and Gas Offshore experience.

Your practical experience must have been gained on wide spectrum of projects in different geographic locations and you will have the ability to demonstrate and explain complex technical issues.
