ENGINEERING JOBS
Our client a major EPCM is seeking a Senior Engineer/Technologist to contribute to the successful execution of customer projects. Working with other technical staff, Project Managers, and customers, the Senior Engineer/Technologist will participate in the installation, commissioning and startup of DeltaV DCS / SIS systems that deliver quantifiable business results to our customers.
Areas of Accountability
# Makes independent decisions for devising practical and economical solutions to problems found at site when commissioning DCS/SIS system.
# Acts as a lead technical person on customer projects and is responsible for the technical scope, solution and quality of the process control system.
# Works with the customer and provides the process control system technical direction and proposes solutions for a customer problem in the area of process control system (e.g. leads Installation Commissioning and Startup).
# Routinely manages and executes multiple complex technical activities in the area of DCS / SIS on site activity.
Qualifications
# 4-year Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Applied Sciences with APEGGA registration with 8-10 years experience or
# 2-year Diploma in a technical discipline OR an engineering degree from a foreign technical institute or university with 10-12 years experience
# Process control system design and implementation experience
# Experience with retrofit projects in the oil and gas industry # Experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS and SIS control system is Required.
# Experience with working on multiple projects or in multiple silo’s on site
# Experience making technical and commercial/business decisions
# Experience with working in large virtual project team environment.
# Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and Access database tools.
# Preference will be given to candidates who have practical knowledge of:
# Networking and security in an Ethernet, TCP/IP and Windows Server based environment.
# Industrial communication protocols
# Logical troubleshooting abilities
