Responsibilities:
- Engineering support for Mechanical Integrity department in performing preventive maintenance (PM) and repair activities for critical plant equipment, including fixed assets (tanks, pressure vessels and piping) and rotating machinery
- Provide analysis of failed equipment to determine and eliminate cause(s)
- Advise, review and approve temporary repairs and modifications to equipment - piping repairs, on stream (hot) tapping, etc
- Establish and maintain equipment lubrication program
- Advise on proper execution and documentation of repair and preventive maintenance (PM) activities for both rotating and fixed assets. Where necessary support job plan and shop paper development in support these activities
- Perform safety and work quality audits of hourly employees executing maintenance activities
- Identify and interface with preferred equipment manufacturers, specialists, and technical support consultants
- Develop and maintain job plans for specific repair activities
- Develop, maintain and update maintenance documentation (e.g. repair reports, bill of materials, upgrade recommendations) for critical plant equipment
- Support site Maintenance Department planners and foremen as required
- Assist Mechanical Integrity Inspectors and condition monitoring data interpretation, recommend actions based on these analyses
- Provide the first line of technical support to maintenance foremen and operating personnel for issues related to stationary and rotating equipment maintenance and reliability
- Provide assistance with equipment performance troubleshooting as requested/required
Desired Skills & Experience
Basic Qualifications:- BS Mechanical or Materials Engineering.
- 2 years of Reliability Engineering experience in heavy industrial settings (Chemicals, Petroleum, Steel, Pulp & Paper, etc.). With rotating or fixed equipment (examples; pumps, compressors, conveyors, boilers, pressure vessels, tanks & piping).
- 5 years of work experience preferred in the design, repairs, maintenance, reliability, failure modes, and/or inspection of chemical, petrochemical, or process equipment
- Prefer experience with reliability tools such as RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis, FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis), Weibull Analysis (Reliability Life Data Analysis), statistical analysis, etc.
- Prefer experience with facilitating engineering processes, principles, and maintenance & reliability functional excellence capability.
