International Oil & Gas Operator requires Health & Safety Advisors to join their Drilling team for a major LNG project in Papua New Guinea. This is a contract role based in Papua New Guinea on 28 days on / 28 days off rotation.
This role is responsible for supporting the onshore drilling operations regarding health and safety issues. The Advisor serves at the rig site as a contact for all health and safety issues related to rig-based activities, executing initiatives and responding to requests and questions from the Drilling team.

Duties:
• Observe Health & Safety drills carried out at the site and participate in de-briefing meeting, ensuring adherence to Company requirements
• Facilitate regular Health & Safety inspection, assessments and audit on-site in accordance with established Company Safety & Health programs or as requested by the site team
• Follow the safety requirement of the sites and immediately report hazardous work and non-conformances to the site lead for the follow up with the contractor and subcontractors
• Administer Company safety awareness, recognition and incentive programs on site
• Review and coordinate site contractor’s Health & Safety plans
• Participate as required in investigation and follow-up of incidents/accidents. Prepare notifications and reports for site representative signature
• Collect safety lessons learned and communicate with site lead
• Coach and facilitate the site in execution of Company programs to comply with the site safety plan
• Facilitate the site safety steering and worker safety committees
• Provide early warning of potential Health & Safety problems
• Identify trends to develop programs and/or initiatives to promote an injury free work environment

Minimum requirements:
• 5-10 years Health & Safety experience within Oil & Gas
• Broad knowledge of safety rules and regulations with respect to drilling operations.
• Experience in identifying trends to developing programs and/or initiatives to promote an injury free work environment
• Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety (highly regarded)
• Demonstrated teamwork and communication skills – ability to influences drilling workforce, develop solid working relationships and communicate with diverse workgroups
• Experienced in MS office suite
