My client who is one of the leading Companies in the Region and is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Process Engineer - Chemical
Position will be based in Dubai, UAE
Role and Responsibilities:
A Process Engineer shall design equipment that shall perform the process function required by end users requirements in Oil and Gas industries with specific emphasis on Well Test applications.
Responsibilities involve Heat and Mass Balance designs as well as the associated mechanical design for such equipments as Heat Exchangers, Separators, Boilers, Surge tanks, Pump skids, Metering Skids and Tanks understanding the reactions taking place, installing control systems, and starting, running and upgrading the processes. Environmental protection and health and safety aspects are also significant concerns.
Work is project oriented and requires multiple projects to be handled simultaneously.
Typical works include:
• Applying the principles of mass, momentum and heat transfer to process and
equipment design, including conceptual, scheme and detail design
• Preparing reports, process flow diagrams (PFD), piping and instrumentation drawing (PID) based on requirements
• Sizing of process and mechanical equipment and preparing datasheets
• Preparing pressure drop calculation for pipe line, NPSH calculation of pumps and pump selection
• Perfuming process equipments sizing/capacity calculations for pumps, compressors, vessels, separators, tanks, heat exchangers, line hydraulics, sizing of pressure relief valves, breather valves and control valves and selecting the correct valves, process vent sizing as per applicable codes.
• Selecting, managing and working with sub-contractors with respect to process design
and equipment selection
• Reviewing existing data and verifying vendor document to check compliance with
process requirements
• Designing, upgrading, monitoring and trouble hooting existing processes
Recommend improvements to departmental policy and implement procedures and
controls covering all areas of Engineering function, so that all relevant
procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering quality, cost effective service to customers.
• Ensure compliance to all relevant QHSE procedures and controls across Engineering function to guarantee employee safety, health, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
Requirements (Mandatory):
The individual should have been effectively involved in developing PFD, P&ID, UEFD, PSFD, Material & Energy Balance, Process Basis of Design, FEED & Concept verification, Process description, Hydraulic calculation, Pump sizing, Utility
requirement calculation, Operational, Control & Safeguarding philosophy, LP Philosophy, Operating manual,Cause & Effect Matrix, Fire water demand calculation and other key process deliverables.
Should have had participated in HAZOP, HAZID, ENVID, OHRA, PHSER, Project Safety & Design reviews and also involved in the close-out activities. Worked as Lead engineer and executed the projects independently.
Also conversant in vendor, Client co-ordination & vendor package review.
Up-to-date working knowledge of international codes below but not limited to the following :
API 6A, 12K, 12J, 16C, 520, 650,600 NACE MR01-75, PED 97/23/EC etc.,
• Use of Pipenet, Hysys, HTRI, UNISIM, PIPESIM etc.
• Direct experience in process simulation software such as Hysys, Pipenet,
UNISIM, PIPESIM, Pipenet, etc., and thermal design software such as HTRI,
Code-Calc etc. for Heat and Mass Balance.
• Computer skills –Word, Excel, PowerPoint
