Job Title : Head of Discipline (HOD) for Piping engineering
Job Location : Abu Dhabi
Job Description
Responsibilities
Studies contract documentation and pipeline scope of work and nominate engineers for project work.
Allocates/recruits manpower resources to enable efficient and effective engineering work to be completed within allocated manpower budget and to established quality standards.
Undertakes audits of pipeline engineering procedures to examine effectiveness and makes recommendations for change where the need is identified or advantage is to be gained.
Revises pipeline engineering procedures and make recommendations to examine effectiveness and makes recommendations for change where the need is identified or advantage is to be gained.
Undertakes activity to modify and upgrade the norms used in the pipeline estimation process to ensure the accuracy and completeness of information to be used in preparing bids.
Assesses pipeline engineering manpower requirements at the estimation stage for inclusion in project bids.
Acts as the ultimate pipelines technical/professional authority for the resolution of complex problems and to assist subordinate engineers in developing their professional capabilities.
Identifies, assesses and makes recommendations on hardware and software
Identifies training needs and recommends training courses and development programmes to bridge these gaps.
Keeps informed of the developments in the field of pipelines engineering and brings to notice those, which could be of benefit to this company.
Compliance in accordance with HSE
Minimum Requirements
B.Sc in Engineering, i.e. Mechanical, Civil or structural
15-20 years engineering experience in detailed engineering and construction engineering activities for offshore oil and gas pipelines, e.g. subsea pipelines and offshore pipelay on vessels and familiarity with the latest design codes, standards and analysis techniques.
Proven supervisory track record with strong management potential.
Organizational awareness.
Well developed planning and organizing skills
Influencing skills
Thorough understanding of all engineering disciplines
Knowledge of pipeline engineering software.
Good command of written and spoken English.
Good technical knowledge and skills
Good communication skills.
