91544 - Electrical & Instrument Inspector
Our client is an international Oil & Gas company providing energy worldwide. Operating facilities and marketing products in the majority of the world's countries, they also carry out exploration for oil and natural gas in six continents.
They are currently recruiting for the position of Electrical & Instrument Inspector, based in Papua New Guinea.

Job Description
  • Monitors the day to day activities of the Contractor. Works with Engineering and Construction to ensure that there is proper electrical and instrumentation coverage in the field.
  • Ensure that all electrical and instrumentation work is performed in accordance with the Specifications
  • Monitor that all electrical and instrumentation quality inspection activities are in accordance with the Project Quality Plan and Company and Contractor QA/QC procedures.
  • Keep the Site Quality Coordinator and the Construction Superintendent updated of the status of electrical and instrumentation quality issues and problems with achieving electrical and instrumentation quality expectations.
  • Provides expertise to Site Team to avoid/resolve electrical and instrumentation quality issues
  • Monitors contractor electrical and instrumentation crews working in the field to ensure compliance to specifications and procedures
  • Provides technical guidance and ensure compliance with legal requirements and Company PDS standards for electrical and instrumentation documents.
  • Ensure that all electrical and instrumentation inspection is performed in the field in a consistent manner and that the inspection complies with the Company and Contractor Quality Assurance and Control Plans
  • Perform QC of all daily electrical and instrumentation reports, engineering drawings, and inspection records.
  • Performs spot reviews and checks of Contractor's records and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
  • Assist with quality assessments being performed in their area.
  • Perform regular assessments and audits to ensure that each worker is qualified for work in accordance with the approved procedure records and ensures that the proper procedures are being applied.
Skills & Experience
  • Must be able to speak and write in fluent English
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  • Significant relevant experience with previous experience in a similar role
  • Must be conversant in applicable codes and standards
  • Previous Company or affiliate experience a plus
  • Previous international experience with an EPC firm or Owner a plus
  • Must have worked or be willing to work in an overseas country where cultural diversities are understood and respected.
  • Must have worked or be willing to work in a subtropical climate where certain diseases and health hazards are more prevalent yet can be eliminated/mitigated by diligently following Project health policies.
  • Must be willing to step up into other roles and responsibilities when requested in order to cover shortages in Site Team resources
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative team and be able to react to issues in an aggressive yet productive manner.
This is a contract position.
The rate for this position is negotiable.
