Job Description

INPEX is currently recruiting for a Senior Drilling Engineer.  The primary function of this position is to provide well planning and engineering on a combination of exploration and development wells according to the WC&I management system under the direction of the supervising drilling engineer.  This position may shift from a planning engineering focus to a drilling operations support role during a drilling campaign.  
 
Key responsibilities of this position include: 
  • Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company's policies and procedures.  Ensuring the welfare of personnel and the protection of assets and the environment at all times.
  • Coordinate the preparation of Environment Plans (EPs) for submission to NOPSEMA for seismic, exploration drilling and other surveys.
  • Supervise the work of consultants in preparing draft EP's.
  • Conduct and/or coordinate ENVIDs to identify environmental risks associated with exploration activities.
  • Participate, as required by the Senior Environmental Adviser, in drilling rig, seismic and other survey vessels inspections, reviews and audits.
  • In collaboration with INPEX External Affairs Department, undertake stakeholder consultation to support exploration activities.
  • Provide additional environmental support  as directed by the Senior Environmental Adviser.
  • Demonstrate and encourage empathetic teamwork as a member of a culturally diverse organization.

Desired Skills & Experience

The following Qualifications and Experience are a requirement of this position: 
  • Appropriate Engineering Degree
  • Current IWCF or WellCap certification
  • Current HUET
  • Minimum 10 years drilling engineering experience
  • Experience in well drilling and completions management
  • experience in obtaining activity approvals in Australia
  • Experience with high rate subsea gas wells
