ENGINEERING JOBS
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Project Engineering Manager will manage a technical team engaged on a project to meet the short term project objectives and the long term needs of the business.
He/she will contribute to the development of the Project Engineering teams to ensure they support the company's commercial and project execution strategies.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Under broad guidance, manages an operational segment of Engineering or Construction by directing, developing, communicating, and implementing the company's direction and strategic goals. Contributes to business development and marketing internally to the company's employees as well as externally to the clients. Monitors and supports the pursuit of project opportunities and identifies the resources and training necessary. Identifies applications for existing and new technologies, and communicates best practices throughout the team. May participate in early development of strategy, implementation and execution phases. Responsibilities may include business development, budget control, project & resource management, engineering operations, performance management, training and all other related business activities. Establishes goals and objectives for engineering operations and makes operational decisions. Management of significant man-hour budgets and deliverables. Fully endorses and executes all Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives.
All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Maritime Systems) or related advanced field from accredited university. Professional accreditation.
Offshore Certificates, HUET or BOISET & Offshore Medical is required/will be provided
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
To qualify you must have previous employment in a Project Engineering Manager, Lead Engineer or Senior Engineer role with 5 to 10 years experience with demonstrated management capabilities ensuring engineering content to applicable codes and company specifications/processes. Can demonstrate work experience with subsea infrastructure / components (PLET's, PLEM's, ILT's, Manifolds, Control Systems, Production Trees, Umbilicals, Risers, Rigid and Flexible Flowlines). Basic awareness of Remote Intervention tools and techniques. Understanding of pipeline and/or umbilical pre-commissioning and commissioning. Has experience working in an offshore and subsea environment. Can demonstrate knowledge and understanding of resource planning, scheduling, budgets and forecasting. Basic awareness of IRM techniques. Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate teams. Demonstrates good written and verbal skills.
