Job Description
The Offshore Geophysicist performs all office and field related Geophysical survey assignments as defined by the Manager Offshore Personnel & Resources, Project Report Leader and / or the Project Manager.Responsible for interpretation and reporting of geophysical data, both offshore and in the office as required. Supports other departments with geophysical background information.
- Execute given work ensuring it is within project targets and in accordance with specifications, procedures and work practices.nterpret and process geophysical data
- QC geophysical data for completeness and quality
- Perform all administrative and logbook duties according to proper Fugro guidelines
- Execute field reporting offshore
- Responsible for geophysical reports of assigned projects in given format
- When required liaise directly with Client
- When necessary is expected to perform tasks in the office e.g. execute final reporting
- Adhere to Company QA/HSE standards at all times, and demonstrate thorough awareness of and compliance with the QA/HSE system and its requirements
- Undertake any other duties as appropriate within their competence, as required by the Manager Offshore Personnel & Resources and / or the Manager Processing & Reporting from time to time
Desired Skills & Experience
The candidate we have in mind is flexible, stress resistant, has an accurate work practice and a hands-on mentality.- B.Sc. level or diploma in geophysics or related subject
- Preferable experience in pipeline inspection work / route surveys / site surveys
- Understands surveying, engineering and data processing principles
- Knowledge of company specific acquisition, processing and reporting software
- Conversant with geophysical equipment
- Good knowledge of English language (verbal & in writing)
- Be a team player with good communication skills
- Ability to work and travel offshore locally and internationally
