NAM is made up of three Assets – Groningen, ONEgas offshore in the Southern North Sea and Land. The Asset Land covers all onshore oil and gas fields with the exception of the Groningen field and the Norg and Grijpskerk underground gas storage facilities.
The main operational areas are in the North and East Netherlands but there is also significant activity around Rotterdam. Many of the fields and facilities are in mature and late field life stage, but at the same time the asset is continuously bringing new fields on-stream with innovative development concepts.
In addition to traditional development and production activities, the asset is successfully involved in pioneering a number of new concepts like carbon capture and storage, enhanced gas recovery using foam techniques and nitrogen injection. The asset’s future strategy is centered on becoming a world-class tail-end operator maximizing recovery at lowest possible cost and new developments with innovative concepts and the use of standardized, re-deployable modularized equipment concepts.

Job Description
We’re currently looking for a Pipeline Engineer for its extensive infrastructure and a large and diverse number of facilities.The responsibility assigned to the Asset Land Engineering & Maintenance Pipeline Engineering position is to:
- Maintain integrity of company assets of all ages with no compromise on safety and within budget limitations. UIE is putting a priority on improvement of safety, attitude and behaviors to help us achieve the ambitious targets we have set ourselves
- Maintain the pipeline integrity management process and methods, including PipeRBA, Ageing, Life Extension & obsolescence strategy, pipeline reference planning and data management
- Provide maintenance and inspection plans to assure the technical integrity of the pipelines within defined scope and budget, under minimum supervision, focused on realizing asset specific HSE, integrity, costs and availability performance
- Evaluate the pipeline condition, test data and information to provide in time solutions to those conditions threatening integrity, reliability or availability
- Identify and contribute to technical developments in areas associated with pipelines
- Assist the Technical Authority level 2 to assure compliance with the design standards / envelope for pipelines and advise on matters of specification, design, selection, procurement, application and maintenance and identify/recognize potential hazards in own discipline and propose/implement solutions to eliminate/minimize risk
- Develop and implement best practice standards, tools, records, inspection, monitoring and emergency response systems
- Work closely with operations, projects and discipline experts to develop optimum solutions to resolve pipeline integrity issues
- Work with government departments, statutory authorities and professional bodies to ensure legal regulations are met and to promote practicable and improved codes of practice and regulations in the field of pipeline system operations
Desired Skills & Experience
You should hold a degree in Mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent or have a chartered Engineering status. You bring in experience in the field of pipeline integrity management, project execution, pipeline inspections and maintenance, preferably in the upstream area of the business, with responsibilities including a significant HSE dimension.- Relevant pipeline engineering standards, legislation and industry standards
- Construction and repair methods of pipeline systems and pipeline components
- The various degradation mechanisms of pipelines
- Operational safety competences in deliverables and processes
- Considerable customer focus, interpersonal skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English and fluent in Dutch
