Reporting to the Supervisor Exploitation Engineering, this position will be responsible for planning and executing the exploration and development strategies for the Asset Team. This position will require considerable interactions with a wide variety of other groups including other engineering disciplines, geology, land, operations and accounting. This position will be primarily responsible for the following:- Work with other members of the Asset Team to formulate and steward a short term and long term area development plan
- Prepare capital forecasts/budgets and production forecasts within a specific geographic area
- Track and manage the capital plan and volumes forecast on behalf of the Asset Team according to the monthly schedule as set out by the Company
- Provide evaluation work to support land sales and drilling opportunities; including production, reserves, costs, risk assessment, economics, approval, project management and execution
- Work closely with operations to reduce costs
- Work with the geological, geophysical, drilling, production and operations teams on the well placement as it relates to spacing requirements, surface consideration, drilling limitations and pool management
- Set the expectations for recovery potential and opportunities for increased recovery such as infill wells, injector conversions, pattern alignment workovers and recompletions
- Perform all reservoir engineering functions including; economic evaluations, look back evaluations, monitoring reservoir performance, help maintaining an accurate reserves database and providing support for oil and gas asset evaluation of acquisition and divestiture opportunities
- Provide exploitation engineering support to various other PetroBakken teams in the areas of joint ventures, production, reserves, facilities and exploration
- Support the Reservoir Team with reserve evaluations
- Other responsibilities as required
Desired Skills & Experience
- An Engineer with a minimum of 5 years directly related experience or a Technologist with a minimum of 7 years of directly related experience
- Current membership with APEGGA or ASET and a P.Eng or R.E.T designation
- Superior project management skills
- Experience in database structure and data retrieval
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to clearly communicate thoughts on complex issues
- Experience managing projects and an understanding of common project management concepts
- Familiarity with Mosaic, GEOScout, AFE Navigator, MSOffice, PVR and other industry software, would be beneficial and preferred.
