Responsibilities:
- Audits and conducts DP FMEA trials on offshore vessels
- Provide consultancy to ensure rules compliance and resolve any issues in the design
- Conducts surveys of electrical systems, control systems, automation systems and communication systems for new construction and ships in operation
- Attends onboard vessels to carry out various types of ship surveys including non-classification surveys and certification of material and components when needed
- Reviews engineering technical specifications and drawings in the area of electrical, mechanical and control engineering
- Be involved in the physical commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems and resolve issues that arise
- Advises and confers with engineers in design review meetings and technical workshops to give reliability findings and recommendations
- Coordinates with clients in respect of work schedules and requirements
Requirements:
- Minimum Engineering Degree ( Industrial & Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture)
- Minimum 5 years relevant design/analysis/Electrical and Instrumental/DP work experience in a shipyard, design/consulting office, marine equipment manufacturer, shipping company or a classification society, and seagoing engineering license or professional/chartered engineer license. Candidates with more experience will be considered for Senior Engineer position
- Proven shore based experience within maritime industry
- Independent, minimal supervision required due to specialized nature of the position
- Good time management to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent social competence and communication skills to build strong customer relationships
