Responsibilities:
  • Audits and conducts DP FMEA trials on offshore vessels
  • Provide consultancy to ensure rules compliance and resolve any issues in the design
  • Conducts surveys of electrical systems, control systems, automation systems and communication systems for new construction and ships in operation
  • Attends onboard vessels to carry out various types of ship surveys including non-classification surveys and certification of material and components when needed
  • Reviews engineering technical specifications and drawings in the area of electrical, mechanical and control engineering
  • Be involved in the physical commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems and resolve issues that arise
  • Advises and confers with engineers in design review meetings and technical workshops to give reliability findings and recommendations
  • Coordinates with clients in respect of work schedules and requirements

Requirements:
  • Minimum Engineering Degree ( Industrial & Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture)
  • Minimum 5 years relevant design/analysis/Electrical and Instrumental/DP work experience in a shipyard, design/consulting office, marine equipment manufacturer, shipping company or a classification society, and seagoing engineering license or professional/chartered engineer license. Candidates with more experience will be considered for Senior Engineer position
  • Proven shore based experience within maritime industry
  • Independent, minimal supervision required due to specialized nature of the position
  • Good time management to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent social competence and communication skills to build strong customer relationships
