Purchasing Officer - Perth - Oil and Gas Operator - 12 Month Contract

An Operator in Perth is currently searching for a Purchasing officer to join the team for a new phase of a project. Reporting into the supply chain team leader, the purchasing officer will also liaise with company employees from logistics and inventory control in order to complete the tasks assigned. This role will be an initial 12 month contract starting in January 2013.

Responsibilities
* Acquisition of goods according to company policies.
* Sourcing, identification, qualification and approval of providers
* Management of the vendor database
* Preparation of requests for quotation and document supplier evaluation
* Supplier negotiation
* Monitor and expedite suppliers to ensure delivery of goods according to Po's.

Requirements:
 1 5 years of experience in a purchasing role (MUST HAVE)
2 At least 4 years of recent experience working in an oil and gas company (MUST HAVE)
3 Knowledge of the procurement process
4 SAP system experience (MUST HAVE)
