A major Owner currently has a need for an Installation Engineer to join their team in September of 2010 on a contract basis.
Roles and responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to the following:
Roles and responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to the following:
- Monitor and oversee the Installation Contractor in the installation, testing, commissioning and decommissioning of the offshore pipelines and subsea structures.
- Work with the Installation Contractor to ensure that the execution program and installed subsea facilities:
(a) Meet all design, safety, quality, construction and regulatory requirements;
(b) Meet project goals for safety, operability, reliability and environmental performance;
(c) Provides Least Life Cycle Cost.
- Oversee the Installation Contractor's preparation of all documentation required for offshore installation and decommissioning.
- Review installation analysis reports.
- Work closely with the Project Team during the design, procurement and installation phases of the project as required ensuring successful execution.
- Review key project plans / systems / procedures that impact safety and quality of execution (e.g. Change Management, Information Management, Interface Management, Procurement Plans, etc) and ensure alignment / linkage to project team requirements.
- Provide leadership and support to project during offshore execution phase on the installation vessels as a project engineer working with Company Vessel Management Team.
- Preparation and coordination of documentation required for Diving Authorization
- Provide oversight in spool fabrication activities
- Interface with operations regarding decommissioning and commissioning activities
To qualify for this role, you must possess the following skills/experience:
- Energetic, proactive, self-motivated team player; able to work in a dynamic project team environment with demonstrated ability to progress multiple activities
- Detailed, thorough, and disciplined hands-on approach in carrying out assigned tasks and contractor oversight
- Professional Engineer with specialization and proven experience in subsea design, fabrication and installation
- Minimum 8 years relevant experience with flexible installation projects, subsea structures installation, piling operations, spool installation and diving projects
- Contractor management experience and skills
- Working knowledge of the Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Regulations
- Experience with subsea installation engineering analysis.
- Experience in rigid spool fabrication, welding and coating systems
- Experience in managing subcontractors and fabricators
- Experience in management of Installation Contractors offshore as member of the project vessel management team
- Understanding of welding and NDE requirements would be an asset
