(JOB) DEVELOPMENT GEOLOGIST

This person will be teamed with a reservoir engineer and be responsible for evaluating the exploitation and development of conventional and unconventional reservoirs. Must be a team player and a creative thinker with the ability to merge exploration techniques with development processes and capable of both Development Geology and Operations Geology. A solid background in geologic principles such as stratigraphy and/or structure and able to work in a team environment with a reservoir engineer. Ability to work projects in early stage development with limited data and prepare Geologic well prognosis’.
Correlate logs and generate subsurface structure and Isopach maps. Well-site duty to oversee logging programs and integrate geologic, geophysical and engineering data. Plan, recommend and drill wells and can assist reservoir engineering with reserve calculations. BS or MS Degree in Geology and minimum of five years experience in oil and gas exploration and production. Fluent with wire-line and mud-logging and Can synthesis work into concise management presentations. Experience with the Monterey Formation in California a plus.

Experience with hydraulic fracing and knowledge of Geographix software a plus. Willing to have their work peer reviewed by team and willing to travel to well-site’s when necessary. Knowledge of fractured reservoirs helpful.
