Project Engineer
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for Seal and Seal Auxiliary Systems selections, including design features, materials of constructions, specified operating conditions, rotating equipment, calculations and customer requirements for project quotations and order.
* Oversee the order processing to delivery, including installations and/or commissioning arrangement, documentation submission and project cost tracking for all projects job in the Singapore Hub.
* Review awarded orders/contracts to ensure that requirements are adequately defined and documented, identify any differences between the order and FSG tender; and verify in-house capability to meet the contract scope, performance and delivery requirements.
* Liaise closely with the customers on drawings submission approval, customer and/or 3rd party inspection/witness visit/ in-process inspection; and update both customers and team members on project production schedules.
* Coordinate and facilitate closely with the various function groups to ensure timely resolution of any progress issue, changes and delivery of goods to the request schedule.
* Accountable for the successful achievement of the project contractual specification and schedule; and assures that project meets the customer’s quality and all purchased materials requirements.
* Main contact point for all technical issues which needs Sales and/or customer input and on significant project orders for Seal and Seal Auxiliary Systems.
* Responsible for the complete, thorough and accurate information (such as bill of material, routing, scheduling, material specifications, engineering documentation, buy-out specifications, engineering changes) and supply of all required documentation
* Ensure the timely release of engineering documents to meet schedule – both initial submittal and finalization of all outstanding documentations.
* Responsible to help improve order payment by submitting all required documents.
* Handle all change order activity and help to negotiate contract extensions and customer change order as required.
* Accountable for ensuring that Sales and/or the customer understands the impact of change order relating to costs and on-time delivery target
Requirements:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or any other related Technical discipline with min. 3 years experience in handling Seals and Seal Auxiliary Systems
* Knowledge in application, material, standards, specifications review, auxiliary design, flow calculation and troubleshooting of mechanical seals and auxiliary systems will be a distinct advantage.
* Ability to read, analyze and interpret legal contracts, engineering specifications &/or drawings, technical procedures
* Ability to negotiate effectively with internal and/or external customers when required
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, distinguish between relevant and/or irrelevant contributing factors and draw valid conclusions
* Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical specifications
* Competence in MS Office applications. Knowledge in MS Project Management application will be of added advantage
