Required following positions for a 6 months contract with our client, an EPC Oil & Gas Consultancy in Qatar:

Structural Design Engineer:



Job Profile:The Structural Design Engineer is primarily concerned with the preparation of Structural engineering drawings, design documents and calculations for projects, tenders and proposals, and to do so as per client requirements and in accordance with the company Quality Management System. S/he is also responsible for the production of Structural design drawings and documents based on Discipline Engineers' input using the appropriate drafting tools (AutoCAD, PDS, PDMS and Auto plant, etc.) and in accordance with the company quality procedures.
1.Revision of design information within contract specifications; regulatory requirements; operational and environmental conditions; and design support data, to ensure that adequate information is available to complete the design.
2.Daily coordination of the designers' team and liaison with the Lead and Discipline Engineer to ensure the organization, design and drafting of Structural Engineering drawings, Material Take-Off and Schedules for a given project.
3. Review of vendor drawings and their implementation in preparation for structural drawings.
4.Filing and archiving of drawing documents as per QA procedures and standards; control of master, check and IOC prints; Control of Discipline files and archiving them in the appropriate network location. Document Control procedures are as defined in GENERAL WORKING PROCEDURE.
5. Drafting the following output related to offshore structures and Architectural set-ups:
    - Conceptual Drawings
    - Basis Drawings
    - Detailed Drawings
    - Architectural Drawings
    - Final MTO's
6.Production of drawings and documents from mark-ups as guided by Discipline Engineers and using the relevant discipline tools, including CAD systems, computer spreadsheets and databases.
7.Undertaking site visits for data collection purposes and reporting on site queries to Lead Discipline Engineer
8.Visiting sites for modification and revamp of projects in order to collect and verify data and as-built information
9. Co-ordination within Disciplines for checking layout drawings; Checking back-drafted drawings for compliance with QA standards and procedures; Achieving Inter-Discipline checks as per interdisciplinary tasks stated in Protocol General Section 1.3 and in GENERAL WORKING PROCEDURE; Issuing the Drawings for IDC as per procedures, implementing the comments given by other disciplines & incorporating client comments.
10.Assisting the Lead Engineer on Vendor drawing reviews
11.Participation in proposal, tender or projects estimations in what relates to Structural engineering items; Preparation of Man-hour Estimates & Preliminary MTO's for the Proposal's and Planning the Manpower Requirements for all the projects.
12.Contributing to maintaining the Document Register and Discipline Database: Preparing project documentation as per QA procedures, and assisting the Lead Engineer in the preparation of the Document Register. Document Control procedures are as defined in GENERAL WORKING PROCEDURE.
13.Providing feedback to Lead Engineers on client/site/vendor queries
14.Planning drawing deliverables in line with schedule requirements;
15.Providing technical support to Designers.
16.Ensuring that team members perform according to Client's Quality Assurance procedures.
Checking and review of Discipline drawings, and providing assistance to other Disciplines in their execution of drawings.
18.Contributing towards, maintaining and implement both company and client HSE Management System objectives and procedures, as specified in GENERAL WORKING PROCEDURE and the HSE Manual 1357 A - HSEM -2
19.Complying with the applicable company procedures for the Engineering Department and the Structural Discipline as they are documented in DEPARTMENT WORKING PROCEDURE respectively, as well as those procedures in the references listed therein.
20.Assumes the Lead Designer role on projects; Depending on project size and scope, the Structural Design Engineer may organize and manage one or several groups of Designers.
21.As QMR, whenever assigned, responsible to ensure that the Client's quality system is understood by Discipline members, and that the Quality Management System is implemented.
22.As HSE Representative, whenever assigned, responsible to ensure that the Client's HSE Management system is understood and implemented by Discipline members.

Educational Qualifications:
Degrees and Certifications in Civil Engineering with specialization in offshore structures

Computer Skills:Basic Knowledge Of: MS Office
Advanced Knowledge Of:
- AutoCAD
- Microstation
- PDS / PDMS   
                                                                  
Experience:
Minimum Time of Related Experience: 
20 Years
- Experience in structural drawings on offshore steel structures in the oil and gas / petrochemical environment for 10 years;and 5 years in a Lead Designer position
