Responsibilities:
Talisman USA requires a Rig Move Coordinator to help the Drilling Department to plan, help budget, track, coordinate and execute its mandate in our US Operations. This individual will work with the Drilling and Road Use Departments and other stakeholders with the primary focus being the providing safe, efficient, timely and cost effective rig move support. Reporting to the Manager, Drilling for Marcellus Shale, the Rig Move Coordinator in conjunction with other coordinators, will ensure the tracking of performance metrics for rig moves. The company is looking for someone with great ideas and the ability to ensure quality control of implementation.
 
This role will be responsible for:
  • Planning and coordination of rig moves including load sizing.
  • Collaborating with Drilling Foreman and vendors on project planning and defining equipment and load specifications.
  • Assessing site layout and materials including a detailed understanding of load sizing.
  • Scheduling equipment and personnel required to complete the project and communicate to a cross-functional team including vendors, drilling team members, HSE, facilities, and road management.
  • Planning and coordinating dimensional and over-dimensional loads.
  • Organizing and communicating rig moving schedules and working with the Drilling Foreman, ensure all loads are ready for transport.
  • Working to eliminate standby time and working toward continuous improvement with our rig move processes.
  • Working with Road Use team to help ensure routes are bonded and optimal routing is planned.
  • Working with Drilling Foreman and Road Use team to communicate activity to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Tracking and reporting of KPIs (Key performance Indicators) for rig moves.
  • Help manage the rig moving vendor relationship including job performance issues.
  • Conducting a Route Hazard Assessment to identify and communicate potential hazards.
  • Developing a Pre-Job Safety Plan and in conjunction with HSE team.
  • Participating in rig move safety meetings.
  • In conjunction with the rig move vendor, Drill Rig Manager, Drilling Foreman, and Site Safety personnel, conduct and document a JSA (Job Safety Analysis) and Critical Lifts.
  • Communicating Near Misses to the Drilling Foreman for reporting purposes.
  • Maximizing cost efficiency for rig moves and related equipment.
  • Controlling rig move costs and validate tickets for Drilling Foreman sign-off.
  • Providing accurate and detailed rig move cost estimates including add-ons and equipment costs to the drilling team.
  • Providing cost variance reports, rig move efficiency, and cost reporting KPIs to the drilling team.
  • Reviewing and communicating carrier performance to the drilling team, HSE, and SCM team.
  • Working with rig move carriers to conduct pre and post job planning and review meetings.
Qualifications:
  • College degree or related technical training preferred
  • 5+ years of logistics experience required
  • 5+ years of field oil & gas experience preferred
  • Rig or heavy transport equipment moving experience a must
  • Adverse terrain and weather heavy equipment moving experience a must
  • Experience in operations cost control will be highly regarded
  • Microsoft Office skills required
  • Experience working with SAP business system a plus
  • Familiarity with WellView Peleton software a plus
