We presently operate two blocks in offshore Peninsular Malaysia at PM3 CAA and PM305/314. PM3 CAA has two main operating areas known as PM3 South and PM3 North. PM305/314 operations are centered on the South Angsi Platform.

The objective of the Operations Department are:
  • To operate our facilities efficiently without harm to people and minimum impact on the environment,
  • To maximize oil and gas sales
  • To minimize the cost of operating while maintaining the efficiency and integrity of our facilities, 
  • To develop the potential of our personnel to ensure continued safe and efficient operations.
Key Objectives:
  • Monitor process performance principally on the PM3 and the South Angsi to ensure that the operation is in accordance with the design, that production rate is maximized within the existing constraints, that the process related environmental discharge is managed within statutory and TML limits and that the production process is operated in a safe manner.
  • Communicate the conditions necessary to achieve optimal production to TML Operations and keep these up to date. This will require site visits and close communications with operations personnel.
  • Maintain and update the existing HYSYS and Pipesim process models for both the PM3 and South Angsi.
  • Perform agreed Technical Change Request activities (ie agreed studies and Technical improvements to the facilities), and provide process input and data to AFAs as required.
  • Provide process input to HAZAN/HAZID/HAZOP/Design
  • Review and prepare operating procedures and work instructions for operating facilities.
  • Regularly review production profiles and assess process impacts from changes in fluid rates.
  • Maintain monitoring spreadsheets and report, as required, on changes in operation and recommendations for equipment change-out and operations changes.
Principal Accountabilities:
  • To provide day to day operations support to TML operated facilities. This position will be focused on support for the PM3 and TML South Angsi with assistance being given to future developments/fields as required.
  • Coverage of process optimization, including topsides process Optimization of topside effluent fluid monitoring, including flare, vent and produced water. process equipment operation, utility systems and subsea pipelines. 
  • Ensure that the TML Operations production objectives set by the Operation Manager are met and that constraints, operating problems etc that impact on these objectives are fully addressed. 
  • Manage small studies / projects such as equipment modifications, performance surveys etc. In some cases this will involve the supervision of external contractors and consultants.
  • Arrange and participate in design reviews and Hazop studies associated with design changes for operating facilities.
  • Keep abreast of current offshore and onshore production technology and where appropriate instigate the use of new technologies and ideas on TML facilities.
  • Preparation of submissions to regulatory authorities.
Key Authorities:
  • Mandate to provide guidance and direction to group engineers in key areas.
Working Relationships:
  • Reports directly to Engineering Superintendent.
  • The incumbent will be providing a service for each of the operating centers and as such will have regular contact with the Managers and Operations Supervisors.
  • Close working relationship with the other Technical personnel in the Operation Engineering Group.
  • Close working with Engineering Contractor or Process equipment vendors on process engineering issues.
Qualifications:
  • Honours degree in Chemical Engineering.
Mandatory:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the oil and gas Operational Support.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Previous experience with Process and Flow simulation programs.
Desirable:
  • First rate technical skills with a broad range of process knowledge.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Quality written and oral skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse group of people ranging from technical staff to on site operations staff.
  • Site supervision and commissioning skills in the field including troubleshooting.
  • Basic economic evaluation techniques.
