The North American Operations Supply Chain Management department is a strategic supply chain department featuring category management, LEAN culture and operating efficiencies and strategic contracting, and is positioned to support a rapidly growing business. Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the primary goal of the Contractor HSE Management Advisor is to facilitate the implementation of the Contractor HSE Management Practice in the region where located. The role will have a high level of interaction with operations, HSE and Supply Chain Management as well as suppliers working for Talisman. 
 
This role will be responsible for:
  • Contractor Engagement – Ensures Talisman values, policies, and procedures are communicated to contractors through a variety of means which may include facilitating field wide supplier meetings and facilitating meetings with HSE staff and individual suppliers to develop action plans to close gaps and HSE best practice meetings. The primary role of this position is to drive the agenda, ensure the proper preparation is done (score cards, speakers identified, etc) and follow up on action items that come out of the meetings.
  • HSE Compliance – Works with the line to scorecard vendors to ensure they are compliant with and uphold Talisman HSE standards as outlined in the HSE Management Practice. 
  • IS Networld – Monitors and reviews ratings and ensures proper practices are applied to improve supplier HSE performance. An example is when a supplier drops below a “C,” this role will notify the HSE team and the contract sponsor to understand why the rating has dropped.
  • Contractor HSE Scorecards and Audit – Ensures that their delivery unit is adhering to the milestones as set out by regional headquarters. Will also be available to participate in cross auditing of other delivery units.
  • Leadership Facilitation – Leads Contractor HSE focused leadership meetings to ensure that there is active leadership participation and understanding of the current contractor HSE status.
  • Role Model – Is an advocate and role model for safe operations and acts consistently with Talisman Values.
Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of the oil and gas industry (minimum of 3 years experience)
  • Vendor management experience
  • Preparing and leading meetings
  • Experience with HSE programs, Emergency Response Plans, and tracking HSE performance
  • Experience interpreting and creating contracts
  • Have a working knowledge of US and Canadian safety regulations
  • Familiar with applicable government regulations as they are related to contractor safety
  • Ability to communicate process requirements and procedures to a diverse work force
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner to employees, contractors and management
