Design Draughtsman – West Division
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Design Draughtsperson is the focal point for preparation of all drawings, sketches, layouts, etc. required by the Company
- Design Draughtsperson is also the main reference for any external drafting support that might be required.
- Continuously search for new innovative technical solutions to improve processes, products and systems.
- Preparation and control of Project Drawing registers
- Ensure all activities are carried out in line with Company QA & HSE Requirements and Procedures
- Ensure company aims and objectives are progressed
- Preparation of design drawings (2D/3D), installation support storyboards, deck layouts and any other drawing/sketch as required to be included withing Company documentation and procedures
- Production of assembly and component drawings for manufacturing
- Production of proposal and sales drawings/sketches
- Production of parts lists for any drawing
- Assisting with layout revisions as and when required
- Assisting new and junior staff as required
- Liaising with project and proposal engineers with respect to all drawings
- Recognize and work to company and/or industry standards.
- Work to agreed milestones and regular reporting.
- Ensure all aspects of design, i.e. Engineering, manufacturability, HSE, cost, form fit & function have been correctly identified and addressed.
- Pro-actively manage workload
- Work closely with the engineering team to developing solutions
- Check for and identify interface issues in design and identify to project engineer.
- Minimum 5 years experience in similar position within the oil & gas industry
- Degree/HND(or similar) in mechanical/design discipline
- Familiar with current standards relating to the offshore oil and gas industry.
- Familiar with Installation Engineering, Detailed Design, QA/QC and Operations.
- Good organizational/administration skills
- Ability to work to demanding schedules in a productive manner
- Good PC skills with a knowledge of Microsoft packages as well as Autocad and Adobe
- Competent team player with acceptable level of interpersonal and communicative skills
