Operations Manager – West Division
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the day to day project management of Hallin Marine West Operations ensuring the delivery of advanced Project Management services, whilst contributing to the development of the business and supporting the Managing Director as and when required.
- Work in cohesion with the Project Management team and relevant stakeholders in a challenging and highly pressurized environment, whilst demonstrating visionary leadership, organizational aptitude and the ability to contribute extensively on both operational and strategic levels
- Create a positive working atmosphere for the parties involved execution of contracts
- Support other departments with projects related queries
- Ensure safe, professional and cost effective execution of projects and vessel charters
- Create a clear definition of the management of the projects department.
- Provide Leadership direction to the Project Management team, and the management of safe execution of the offshore projects / contracts.
- Provide commercial and technical direction to Project Managers, managing multiple projects across all phases, including conception, planning, development, implementation, management, completion and post projects analysis.
- Key Director representative for clients, with presence at pivotal client meetings
- Develop and implement strategic objectives for practice that is aligned with the Region’s strategic objectives
- Analysis of profitability across all projects, identifying synergies and multiple cost rationalization processes, where appropriate
- Oversee the management team in the establishment of renewables projects
- Oversee the equipment and vessel maintenance and review budgets.
- Oversee the hiring and rate setting and training of project crew
- Monitor contract execution and invoicing.
- Management reporting of ongoing projects and raises the flag on upcoming issues or disputes
- Ensure that the department organization and its resources are capable of compliance with client requirements, standards, codes and specifications. Oversee training of office personnel.
- Oversee and scrutinize project subcontractors contracts
- Maximize financial result on contracted projects
- Ensuring the implementation of the companies risk management policies and procedures
- Contributing significantly to the development of the company, implementing business plans in accordance with MD.
- Work closely with contractual teams to ensure contract accuracy and feasibility across all projects
- Development and implement strategic objectives for practice that are aligned with the region’s strategic initiatives.
- Aid in the implementation of innovative developments across the company
- Oversee QHSE processes across all projects and ensure minimum risk exposure. Ensure compliance with and support of QA Management System ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 18001 Safety Management System.
- Adhere to company’s core values, policies and procedures at all times.
- An appropriate degree (technical / business) and / or proven experience
- Project Management qualification desirable
- Minimum of 5 years working offshore experience in a diving and/or ROV capacity is required
- More than 10 years experience in the execution of projects in the offshore oil and gas/marine industry
- Minimum of 5 years experience in environmental impact assessment
- Experience in leading and managing multiple projects
- Experience of leading vessels from commissioning stage to variable project delivery
- Ability to lead, inspire and motivate teams to ensure project excellence; this will include evaluating performance and communicating key company goals and milestones
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of all legislation, codes of practice pertaining to the offshore marine and diving industry
- Thorough contract and charter party knowledge and good negotiation skills.
- Extensive commercial acumen with ability to offer both operational and strategic suggestions to aid the company’s development
- Fluent in English in speech and writing
