ROV Superintendent – West Division

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Attendance at client’s project planning, HIRAs and project close out meetings
  • Site safety including conducting JSA’s, HIRAs and arranging Tool Box Talks
  • Reporting accidents, occurrences and near misses to the QHSE and Project Managers
  • The safe and efficient operation of the ROV system
  • Control of Substances Hazardous to Health
  • The safe operation of the ROV to conduct the required tasks detailed in the Project work scope in accordance with the ROV operations manual.
  • Overall responsibility for the offshore operation, maintenance and repair of the ROV and ancillary equipment
  • Supervision of offshore crews
  • Supervision of offshore operations
  • On site project planning
  • Liaison with offshore client’s representatives
  • Creation and transmission of daily and weekly reports including daily logs, personnel timesheets, weekly safety/technical/status reports
  • Obtaining client sign-off of any data transmission records for videos and other material handed to client during the course of a project
  • Offshore project documentation including record keeping
  • Ensuring the ROV system is maintained and repaired
  • Ensuring the PMS manual and Technical Logs are kept up to date
  • Ensuring goods received are checked against requisition and completed paperwork is returned to the Operations Department
  • Ensuring that items dispatched from offshore location, whether for repair, warranty, or on demobilization are accompanied by the correct paperwork
  • Ensuring personnel evaluations are regularly completed and forwarded to the Project Manager
On a vessel chartered or owned by Hallin Marine or where projects are managed directly by Hallin marine, Superintendents will have the following additional responsibility:
  • Superintendent may be a part of the operational team, or may by agreement with operations Manager become supernumerary to the ROV crew and perform as solely Managerial function
In these circumstances Superintendent’s responsibilities will also include:
  • Co-ordination of daily project meetings on board the vessel
  • Project scheduling including planning work activities and arranging port calls for crew changes
  • Interface with vessel master and marine crew
  • Co-ordination of vessel services with ship agents, in conjunction with the Project Manager
  • Supervision of sub-contractors such as survey personnel, fabricators, test engineers, etc.
  • Approval and sign off sub-contractor’s daily reports and timesheets
Transmission of Daily Progress Reports (DPR) to those on the list of approved recipients:
  • Operations Manager
  • Client (onshore)
  • Sub-contractors managers (onshore)
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED
  • Appropriate trade experience in Mechanical / Hydraulic or Electrical/ Electronic disciplines.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ ROV Industry experience
  • Offshore Medical and Survival
  • Seaman’s Book
  • Experience of IT is desirable
