Project Engineer – West Division

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
All Project Engineers:
  • The Project Engineer is the focal point for all engineering activities carried out by the Company.
  • The Project Engineer is also the main reference for any external engineering support that might be required.
  • Supervision of design draughtsperson and external engineering resources
  • Detail engineering / supervision, installation engineering calculations and procedures, installation equipment specification and temporary works design / engineering
  • Procurement of all materials and equipment required by installation procedures
  • Specialist technical services subcontracts supervision
  • Preparation of installation engineering calculations and procedure documents
  • Preparation of method statements and general engineering assistance to tendering
  • Technical Review, Operations Review, HIRA and Management of Change processes
  • Preparation of effective Task Plans & Dive Plans from procedures
  • Compilation of as-built dossiers
  • Willingness to accept responsibility for delivery of the project engineering content of an allocated package of work, including the work performed by others
  • Good workload management skills

  • Mentoring / coaching skills
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in line with Company QA & HSE Requirements and Procedures
  • Ensure company aims and objectives are progressed
Project Engineers are also expected to have robust experience one or more of the following areas, either for diver or diverless type operations:
  • Umbilical Installation:
    • Umbilical installation operations
    • Procurement, fabrication supervision and installation of flexible pipe and umbilicals / power cables
    • Survey / Utility vessel installation engineering and procedures
    • Trenching engineering and offshore operations
    • Umbilical / Power cable testing
  • Structure installation:
    • Structure fabrication and installation operations
    • Lift operation planning & Lift Plan preparation
    • Procurement, fabrication supervision and installation of structures 
  • Intervention operations:
    • Spool fabrication and installation operations
    • Lift operation planning & Lift Plan preparation
    • Tie-in and diving operation procedures
    • Pre-commissioning engineering and procedure supervision and operations
  • IRM
    • Subsea tree, manifold and controls system knowledge
    • Saturation and Air diving operations, including RIB operations
    • Types of Inspection and application of the applicable techniques
    • Engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of replacement flexible risers
    • Lift operation planning & Lift Plan preparation
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED
  • Minimum 5 years experience in similar position within the oil & gas industry
  • HNC or above in a relevant Engineering or Science based discipline
  • Preferably IEng or CEng membership of a relevant Engineering Institute
  • Availability to work offshore as field engineer during project installation phases
  • Good organizational/administration skills
  • Ability to work to demanding schedules in a productive manner
  • Good PC skills with a knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Competent team player with acceptable level of interpersonal and communicative skills
