Diving Operations Manager – West Division

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage Hallin West Division Diving Operations.
  • Interface with Operations Management, Project Managers, Offshore Construction Managers, Offshore Administrators, Offshore Medics, Vessel Managers and QHSE to manage all activities related to Diving Operations.
  • Maintain a strong focus on the latest trends and best practices for the Company, in relation to the renewable energy sector, oil and gas industry.
  • Represent Hallin at relevant industry forums, committees, conferences and seminars.
  • Conduct regular interface meetings for the purpose of discussing on-going diving operations, projects or other related departmental issues within the company.
  • Define and maintain diving performance criteria for the division, such as best practice and regulatory change.
  • Advise of any major decisions regarding diving operations, which may affect the Company.
  • Execute technical duties in a competent and professional manner.
  • Define, review and maintain competency profile for diving operations and associated personnel with HR.
  • Ensure selection compliance and direction of the Diving Teams and associated support functions.
  • Provide, maintain, update and review diving procedures and associated documentation, systems and processes.
  • Accountable for the management of all internal and external Diving related audits, compliance in relation to DO23 and DO24, the follow up and close out of audit findings.
  • Liaise with external bodies for approval and certification related to diving operations.
  • Manage regulatory inspections/surveys as required.
  • Develops and manages the annual plan..
  • Reviews department performance against agreed performance measures and establishes initiatives to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Assist the Commercial Department for diving related proposals
    • Provide technical review of ITT, input for solutions, resources and techniques
    • Provides a technically competent solution
    • Review of tender submission prior to issue
  • Assist the Contracts Manager for Diving related Charter and Contract definition
  • Provide review and assessment related to third party vessel and Diving system charters
  • Develop strategies to improve performance and target financial impacts for Diving operations.
  • Participation in work groups, task force, committees, and project teams as necessary.
  • Manage the activities, priorities, work assignments, and performance of any work teams that may be established.
  • Oversees and monitors the effectiveness and quality of all programs in achieving Hallin goals and standards; provides summaries of system effectiveness and maturity.
  • Keeps Hallin management advised of the latest trends and best practice for systems and standards in relation to industry standards, practices and methodologies, as well as regulatory marine requirements.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as requested by management.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED
  • Relevant technical and/or business degree qualification or equivalent proven experience
  • Minimum 10 years working experience in a Diving capacity
  • Extensive knowledge of current industry standards, trends and best practice
  • Knowledge of all legislation, codes of practice pertaining to the offshore marine and Diving industry
  • Ability to motivate teams of people ensuring standard of excellence, including measuring performance and improving standards as necessary
  • Calm, confident and self assured
  • Considerable commercial acumen
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Fluent in foreign languages an advantage
