A global manufacturing company for subsea industry is presently looking for Project Engineering Manager to be based in Houston, US.
The candidate will be reporting directly to PSG Project Manager
Responsibilities:
1. Ensures that cost targets and schedules are met
2. Receives direction from manager to set broad objectives, interpret policy issues, develop new concepts and resolve unusual problems.
3. Uses independent judgement consistently and clearly demonstrates creativity and innovation in finding solutions and alternatives.
4. Develops unique solutions for complex technical or organizational problems that may include the design of new systems or the development of solutions having few or no precedents.
5. Potential errors may have major impact on employee relationships, customer relationships, future business, and holdup of production, major expenditures for equipment, material or production.
6. Consistently leads employees to understand business goals and creates energy and action toward those goals. Encourages and empowers others to achieve.
7. Ensures that assignments meet standards and performance requirements within area of expertise for each group.
8. Manages the budget for departments reporting to this position.
9. Recruits and maintains engineering staff and technical support staff. Administers and reviews salary plan and staff performance appraisals.
10. Finds creative solutions to multi-faceted and/or time sensitive, complex problems. Identifies and utilizes available technical resources throughout FMC and outside institutions.
11. Consults with other departments on work processes, staffing requirements and questions. Anticipates potential problems and proactively solves complex problems through creative thinking, using internal and external resources.
Qualification:
1. BS Degree in Engineering, with at least 4 years of experience in related area, previous experience in managing others as a supervisor or project lead preferred.
2. Has a strong background in the design of subsea flow line and pipeline products and systems and has a current knowledge and network with offshore Pipeline Engineering and Installation companies.
3. Understanding of Design process, practices, and challenges; Technical Documentation process and implementation challenges; Best practices of presenting to an audience, managing the Learning function; Recruiting principles; and performance metrics.
4. Demonstrated ability to execute established process and research/create new processes when needed. Recognized as a technical leader among internal and external peers.
5. Broad understanding of division's businesses and internal and external factors affecting business.
6. Excellent organization, people, project planning and execution skills. Proven leadership ability.
7. Demonstrates high proficiency in mentoring, thinking creatively and project planning.
8. Position holder can demonstrate a high degree of common sense and provide a credible track record of being resourceful.
9. Experienced in planning for and implementing organizational change.
