In Indonesia, INPEX is acting as Kontraktor Kontrak Kerjasama (KKKS) with BPMIGAS for many upstream projects since 1966. INPEX is the operator of Masela Block (Abadi project) offshore Maluku, Arafura Sea, Indonesia, that is now in the early stage of Abadi field development with floating liquefied natural gas concept for future commercial FLNG production.

Parallel with the activities, INPEX Organization is growing rapidly and currently we need the following positions:


Sr. Drilling Engineer (Code: DRL)

Responsibilities:
  • Provide Engineering and Design Evaluations and Reviews, for the purpose of successful drilling for both exploratory and development wells.
  • Provide specific recommendations including: Rig equipment, well trajectory, drill-string design, BHA design and directional strategy, casing design (including specialty tools and equipment), wellbore stability/rock mechanics, fluid properties/type, T&D management and new technologies to minimize risk and improve drilling performance.
  • Conduct technical evaluations including the analysis of well trajectory, hole/casing sizes, mud program, geological and pressure prognosis, BHA/drill-string, reports, local geo-hazards, casing and drill pipe wear, T&D management, ECD management, hole cleaning, rig reliability, BHA performance, and its vibration.
  • Support the Drilling Eng Manager in developing WP&B and, ITT documents as well as evaluation of tenders.
  • Carry out offset data analysis to enhance learning organization.
  • Join WDP (Well Delivery Process) to optimize drilling programme and identify the potential risks and opportunities for drilling performance improvement, cost reduction and delivery of quality wells.
  • Closely monitor daily drilling operations. If any change in drilling program occurs or any lesson learned is obtained during drilling operations, initiate the processes of MOC (Management of Change) or OTB (Operational Technical Bulletin), respectively.
  • Ensure accuracy of drilling performance data. Propose and implement operational optimization improvements and initiate special projects and studies directed at improving operational efficiency and reducing costs, in support of the Continuous Improvement culture.
  • Provide engineering and operational assurance on individual drilling programs, thereby ensuring ongoing knowledge transfer to the subordinates of drilling engineers.
  • Interface with various teams to stay abreast of daily activities and provide insight, advice, and suggestions to complete drilling activities effectively and safely. Team work is required with Drilling Support Team for this purpose.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or any other Engineering Sciences;
  • 7+ years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry with at least 4 years in the Drilling Engineering and/or Operations and two year’s experience for offshore drilling activities;
  • Good understanding of all aspects in drilling engineering such as but not limited to well plan. BoD, AFE generation, WDP, MOC, Well Specific Risk Management and DWOP;
  • Fluency in English both spoken and written;
  • Computer Literacy and report writing skills. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office and related software;
  • Able to work well in a multicultural team and be highly motivated, strong customer focus, effective team player, discipline, dynamic with good personality.
