Come join Air Energi and our EPCM client in this one year (renewable) contract to be located in St. John's, Newfoundland. Our client is looking for qualified candidates for a Lead Structural Design (Post Tensioning)
Specific Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Health, Safety, Environment and Security within own team
- Responsible for implementing all HSE rules and requirements into documents issued by the engineering team
- Lead the design team for post tensioning
- Structural calculation, post-tensioning to verify layout and intensity of the post-tensioning system
- Perform required documentation as basis for special PT drawings
- Ensure that design basis, rules and regulations are implemented in the design work for post tensioning
- Coordinate all information necessary for establishing the technical background for the design work for post-tensioning
- Be responsible for carrying out proper control and verification of the design work
- Ensure that constructability and special requirements from site are attended in the design work
- Assist the PDMS specialist in order to obtain an optimal duct layout with respect to constructability and interface between disciplines
- Coordinate and supervise team members in calculating friction and time dependent losses based on input from PDMS duct geometry and stresses for various load phases and construction sequences
- Coordinate and supervise team members in calculating scaling factors for the FEM analysis post tensioning load cases
- Coordinate and supervise team members in calculating additional reinforcement due to tendon curvatures, and high stresses in the anchorage zones, etc.
Requirements:
- Candidates must have a recognized degree and/or diploma in civil/structural engineering
- 7 plus years experience in structural design
- Experience in post tensioning design of offshore structures, bridges, or heavy reinforced structures required
- Understanding of construction/engineering collaborations
