| Job Description | Job Purpose & Scope:
1.To supervise and coordinate the offshore and onshore activities of the General Maintenance Section. This section is a multi-craft unit comprised of welders, pipe fitters, scaffolders, painters, carpenters, heavy equipment operators, riggers, helpers & civil (concrete) workers, which are frequently augmented with contract labor of various trade and skills.
2.Supervise the activities of assigned personnel in general means and ensure that work programs and objectives are achieved.
3.Receive the Work Orders and Work Request from other trades and issue W.O. for fabrications & repairs. Issue necessary work permits as required and liaise with operation personnel.
4.Ensure that all piping & structural repairs including those as defined by inspection, audit & near miss reports are being carried out to meet company Standards & Procedures.
5.Ensure that all painting, scaffolding, civil works, carpentry work & PA camp repair works are properly done.
6.Develop or review engineering drawings and proposed changes as required.
7.Review piping and valve specifications, welding specifications, painting and sandblasting specifications.
8.Develop take-offs for specific tasks and initiate direct purchase requisitions for materials available.
9.Coordinate and supervise general maintenance activities to ensure that tasks are completed in a timely, safe and good craftsmanship manner and comply with appropriate standards and/or specifications.
10.Conduct informal safety and job related training sessions with the General Maintenance personnel.
11.Full implementation of Maximo for recording and reporting of general maintenance activities including records of work orders, work reports and maintenance log of works carried out.
12.Inspects tools and equipment assigned or checked out to member of the General Maintenance members.
13.Review warehouse stock items that are related to general maintenance and recommend changes as deemed appropriate.
14.Assist in the preparation of annual performance review for all members of the General Maintenance Section and provide counseling as required.
Minimum Requirements:
1.Must have completed an apprenticeship as a pipe fitter or completed a full vocational training course in the same. A degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferable.
2.Must have a strong character of leadership.
3.Minimum of 10 years experience in supervising a multi-craft organization in a crude production or refining facility.
4.Trained in welding and/or pipefitting, either formal or on the job.
5.Prior experience in supervising a multi-national crew with limited English language capability is recommended.
