Job Description

The Product Control Analyst utilizes front line knowledge of physical and paper trading activity to insure accurate production of the trading positions and related profit and loss reports (p&l). The role requires a hands-on, analytical approach and is a key control position that resides on the trading floor with daily trader interaction. The position is responsible for providing an independent view of trading activities and demonstrating an understanding of these activities to insure that trading risk is represented accurately and within the boundaries defined by Senior Management.

- Measuring and reporting daily exposure and profit and loss for the use of traders and Management, Market Risk, Credit Risk and accounting systems.
- Providing assurance on the accuracy and appropriates of the mark to market valuations.
- Analyzing and communicating the factors driving daily p&l and exposure to management & trading teams.
- Validating the trading positions are consistent with the stated trader trading strategy.
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with control policies, standards and authority limits
- Oversee the inventory reconciliation process to insure adequate process is being followed in order to insure accurate exposure.
- Provide understanding of the cash cycle in order to support the accurate forecasting of cash and working capital as well as resulting variance analysis for trading books.
- Insure that the trading activity is captured correcting in financial accounts.
- Provide coverage and back up for all of the team on all books.
- Support the Regional Book Head and Product Control Lead with initiatives and project work including implementing new activity
- Identify and implement continuous improvement
- Provide a visible and effective informal leadership role across the PC team and Finance

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or other related field.
MBA and/or CFA is desirable.
- Business experience in finance, market risk, trading, accounting and/or control within a trading environment
- Strong Analytical Skills (the ability to grasp and communicate complex trading transactions into their economic effects)
- Attention to detail (ability to work with detailed transactions and properly control , report and communicate trading activity)
- Ability to handle numerous tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to perform under pressure in a high paced dynamic environment
- Ability to communicate complex information in an effective and efficient manner.
- Strong numeracy skills.
- IT (systems) skills (Business Objects, Excel & Access) are a plus
