Job Description

Position is a marine engineer involved with the development and deployment of marine machinery/electronics related predictive failure models.  Incumbent will be involved with projects related to rotating and thermal machinery, computer technology based electronic systems, application of artificial intelligence based predictive maintenance technology, control systems integration, and equipment condition monitoring.  Typical projects include identifying equipment/ machinery failure modes, developing applicable predictive failure models, implementing data acquisition and analysis systems required to execute the failure models in run-time environment, and providing information to display systems. Incumbent will interface with mechanical, electrical, reliability engineers, and coordinate activities with software and IT engineers.

Desired Skills & Experience

At minimum a BS degree in Marine Engineering or Electrical, Mechanical Engineering with 2 years of commercial marine or Navy experience. The ideal candidate will have strong capability in the analysis of mechanical, hydraulic, and thermal equipment, or electronic systems operating in ship-board environments. In addition, candidate should possess condition monitoring experience and training, analytical ability, reliability engineering training or education, computer skills, familiarity with data acquisition systems, leadership experience, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of equipment failure mechanisms.
