Job Description

The Senior Equipment Engineer will specify, design and approve major equipment components for McDermott marine and fabrication facilities. This includes but is not limited to, cranes, crawlers, hoists, special hydraulic equipment and other specialty heavy equipment located on our marine installation support vessels and fabrication yards. 
  • Ensure primary consideration is given to HSE issues in all activities undertaken within areas of responsibility
  • Coordinate with Operations Area on efforts related to repair and maintenance and equipment modification
  • Assist in the preparation of estimates for purchases and modifications for all equipment and machinery

Desired Skills & Experience

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree -  preferably in Mechanical Engineering 
 Experience:
  • Experienced marine heavy equipment engineer with a minimum of 15 years of experience
  • Experience with maintenance & inspection of lifting devices (Hoists, engines, transmissions) 
  • Experience with conducting audits of equipment / machinery maintenance
 
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated management of heavy equipment programs and knowledge of the equipment that must be maintained
  • Consciences awareness of corrective actions taken for any and all HSE issues that may arise
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic equipment of offshore marine installation and support vessel
