POSITION DESCRIPTION
As a Lead Marine Systems Engineer you will provide technical expertise and knowledge of offshore units within the areas of Marine Utility Design to ensure successful projects.  We will look to you to be a liaison with external stakeholders and bodies such as clients, installation companies and class authorities.  You will be responsible to plan, lead and execute project tasks in the area of Marine Utility design of ship and offshore units in accordance to classification rules, primary DNV and ABS societies, P&ID Design Plan, development of system descriptions and design philosophies for Hull Systems, Marine Systems and Domestic Systems, analyze stress and flow calculation of piping systems, prepare datasheets for equipment., and perform equipment and material selections for related systems.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors degree in Marine Systems, Naval Architect, Mechanical or Civil Engineering required, advanced degree a plus
  • Minimum 7+ years experience in Marine Systems Engineering within offshore industry.
  • Solid, hands-on experience using PDMS, AutoCAD, Tribon / Aveva Marine, and/or ProEngineer software required.
  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience, including providing technical guidance to less experienced engineers required
  • Must have experience producing accurate and well written technical reports.
  • Position requires strong knowledge and practical experience of classification society (ABS, DNV, etc.), statutory, and industry standard compliance
  • Fluent and effective verbal and written communications skills in English required
  • Ability to work as part of a team is essential
  • Professional Engineers License or ability to obtain license also preferred
  • Must be able and willing to travel domestic and international, on occasion (approx 10-20%)
