JOB OVERVIEW
 
Reporting directly to the Maintenance Planning and Scheduling Manager, and working close to Maintenance Manager and Leaders, the Reliability Analyst will minimize equipment failure consequences as a result of application of On Condition Maintenance Strategies, while achieving budgeted maintenance and production targets in a safe and cost effective manner.
 
KEY ACCOUNTABILITY
  • Establish monitoring programs based on the equipment strategy and develop detailed monitoring standards for data acquisition
  • Develop trends, snapshots, histograms and customized events, by using OEM onboard control system parameters
  • Analyze and interpret OEM onboard control systems data. Provide recommendations to maintenance based on trend values
  • Analyze and interpret oil analysis results, provide recommendations to maintenance based on trend values
  • Require Maintenance Work based on CM analysis results
  • Provide inputs to Reliability Improvement Process (Asset and Strategy & Program) on a regular basis to propose changes to programs
  • Investigate and identify new mobile equipment health parameters to monitor by using a wireless approach
  • Participate in lubrication standards development, lubrication auditing and evaluation
  • Support the implementation of a sustainable approach to control the contamination for mine mobile equipment
  • Evaluate lube sampling practices and lube application
  • Participate in RCA and Reliability analysis initiatives
  • Provide support and coach maintenance personnel to perform remote troubleshooting
  • Participate in Equipment Strategy Reviews

Desired Skills & Experience

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
  • 6+ years of related strong working knowledge of Maintenance or Reliability in Mobile Equipment (trucks, shovels and auxiliary)
  • Strong experience with oil analysis and OEM control systems (VIMS, PLM3, Cense, VHMS, etc) an asset
  • NDT, vibration analysis and infrared thermography in mobile equipment experience preferred
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft programs
  • SAP, Mine Care and Modular Dispatch experience desirable
  • Proven technical, decision making, problem solving and prioritization skills
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to learn from others and adopt/implement best practices
  • Motivated, self-starter who can work well independently or within a team environment
  • Understanding of Maintenance processes and Equipment Strategies
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • The Reliability Analyst time is evenly split between field and shop environments.  Identifying the opportunistic On Condition Maintenance Work is an integral part of the job.  Exposed to a variety of temperatures and unpleasant conditions (such as noise, dirt, and extreme heat and cold during shop and field inspections)
  • Job requires regular mental concentration. There is pressure from availability/production targets as well as being on shift work
  • The incumbent works on a compressed work week shift schedule, i.e. 12 hours work on day shift as follows: 7 days on, 7 days off and repeats cycle. The Reliability Analyst is also subject to overtime work schedule and call out due to maintenance requirement
  • This is a fly in and fly out position
