1. Position Objective and General Responsibilities
In a joint effort with the Engineering Contractor, Equipment Vendor,
Company Engineering team to review, and partake in engineering,
producing, installation, testing of mechanical and rotating equipment
systems for the Owner Field facilities, which are safe, efficient and
operations friendly. To foster and maintain the team approach, as a
senior member of the engineering team.
2. Main tasks and Specific Responsibilities
• Engineering review and comment on all mechanical/rotating equipment documents, based on knowledge and experience;
• Recommend changes to improve the mechanical/rotating equipment systems;
• Participate in the HAZOP’s for all facilities;
• Coordinate resolution of process questions with the Production Department;
• Review other relevant documents for their impact on the various processes;
• To establish and maintain a good working relationship with the
equipment Vendor/ Contractor’s personnel, and to provide positive input
to methods and solutions to improve;
• Report daily to the Senior Engineering Manager and keep him informed of any problems or potential problems;
• Provide input to regular meetings both internally and with the Contractors/Equipment Vendors;
• Provide input to weekly and monthly reports to Project Management;
• Person in charge of FAT; Pre-commissioning; Commissioning of
mechanical/rotating equipment (incl. Preparation of pre-commissioning/
commissioning dossier and acting as field engineer at site)
• Provide technical supports to the Company’s Project Group and others as may be required and directed by Project Manager;
3. Internal Interfaces
Interfaces with Senior Engineering Manager, all Project’s team members
and concerned personnel from other Company’s Groups/ Departments.
4. External Interfaces
Equipment Vendor/ Engineering Contractor’s engineers and concerned personnel.
5. Qualifications and experience
Mandatory
• HNC, or BSc Degree in appropriate technical field
• Minimum 15 years of experience in oil and gas, petrochemical or energy industry
• Minimum 8 years experience on Gas turbine engine, internal combustion
engine (gas and diesel fuel) gas compressor (reciprocating and
centrifugal); pumps; fans, etc.
• Management and coordination of Engineering Contractor/ Equipment Vendor
• Experience with processes for production operations in SE Asia
Desirable
• To be an active team member
• To have operated as a project engineer in other projects
