Job Description
The Subsea Systems manager is responsible for developing technical support for Subsea Blow Out Prevention (SS BOP), Control systems, and Marine riser systems for the global deepwater fleet. This includes technical support for existing rigs, technical support for newbuild rigs, developing SS BOP and control system strategy to improve performance and reduce BOP/control system downtime.Additional responsibilities include:
- Developing standards for BOP control system QA (e.g. FMECA, BOP health check systems
- Developing solutions for MPD application for DW floating rigs
- Coordinate BOP COC requirements for each region
- Ensuring SS BOP compliance with Pressure control System manual
- Developing solutions for BOP shearing enhancements
- Providing support for Capping stack and Control systems
- Supporting HSE “Goal Zero” targets
- Ensuring projects are planned according to applicable regulatory standards
- Providing project management skills to deliver on time and in budget
- Communicating with stakeholders and team members
- Coordinating activities with external contractors
Desired Skills & Experience
- Ability and flexibility to travel to offshore both domestically and internationally typically 7 to 14 days per business required visit
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant specialization
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience with SS BOP and Control systems
- Demonstrated experience in Well control
- Demonstrated experience working in multi-disciplinary teams
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders demands and issues on a Global scale
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and deadlines
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong acumen for technology development and innovation
- Willingness to acquire drilling competencies through structured learning and professional exams, all this while contributing to projects or on rig site assignment
