Job Description

Reporting to the senior operations foreman the operations planner serves as the liaison between the on-site operations and maintenance groups, coordinating day-to-day O&M activities and driving all safe work permitting functions.
Note: This is a 7-on 7-off day-shift field-based position, with transportation provided to/from site from major metropolitan areas.
  • Manage and compile all necessary data for entry of operations work orders into SAP; providing consistency and integrity to the work order system
  • Responsible for the compilation of daily safe work permits and assists the control room operators and shift engineers with the issue of “walk-in” work permits as required
  • Assist shift engineers and process specialists with work order entries; reviewing and editing entries as required
  • Ensure a two-way open communication line exists between operations and maintenance groups as it relates to planning activities; providing an overall focus on operational requirements and maintaining production
  • Compile daily reports of operations related work and provide to appropriate shift engineers and process specialists for review
  • Facilitate daily planning meetings with lead operations and maintenance disciplines
  • Compile documents and input request(s) for management of change (MOC) items as required
  • Monitor notification and work order back log in SAP; notifying appropriate personnel of extended items
  • Has indirect responsibility to understand and ensure that all Statoil and regulatory safety processes and procedures are complied with
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Statoil’s vision, values, and business strategies
  • Reviews/Approves incoming work notifications and electronic permits and ensures work is completed as detailed in the job scope and that the equipment is isolated from all sources of energy while the work is performed
  • Reviews/Prepares safe work documentation for day-to-day maintenance work
  • Generate, review, and issue all ground disturbance permits related to the Leismer and Cheecham facilities
  • Assist with the review of crossing agreements and crossing requests, as required for Leismer and Cheecham facilities
  • Collaborate with the safety and training groups as required
  • Assisting with special projects

Desired Skills & Experience

Qualifications
  • ABSA power engineer certification, with preference to 3rd Class or higher power engineers
  • Minimum of (7) years of industry related experience
  • Mature, self-motivated; combined with good verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills are a prerequisite for this role
  • Previous experience with SAP is considered a definitive asset
  • Strong analytical skills, capable of resolving problems independently
  • Demonstrated investigative and data analysis ability
  • Ability to work and contribute in a team environment
  • Possesses a valid Class 5 driver's license (a driver's abstract is required
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
