Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following minimum qualifications:
- Five (5) years minimum relevant Oil and Gas experience preferably in a G&G department.
- Knowledgeable in Wireline and LWD tools.
- Knowledgeable in Log Curve Mnemonics.
- Knowledgeable in Quality Control of data.
- Experience in processing logs for quantitative analysis of saturations, porosity, and lithology.
- Experience processing dipole sonic data.
- Rockies experience a plus.
- Must possess excellent organizational & communication skills.
- Familiarity with TGS, Probe and PI-Dwights softwares.
- Knowledge of Interactive Petrophysics, TerraStation and Recall software a plus but not necessary.
- Must have ability to successfully interact with other departments and service companies.
- Dependable and able to work independently.
- Familiar with all digital data formats.
Responsibilities: - Daily QC and preparation of log data; processing of development wells.
- Work with departmental teams on various data projects.
- Stay current on new logging tools and curves and keep ITS up to date in order make necessary changes to software tables.
- Assist petrophysicists in archiving & maintaining corporate well log database.
- Perform Depth shifting, Curve Conversions and Normalizations.
- Work with teams and vendors to ensure they are following data delivery specs.
- As needed, process sonic and/or image log data for Rockies assets and Houston overflow.
- Export data to and from various software.
- Search & retrieve log data in various company databases then populate databases in preparation for petrophysical interpretation projects.
Education: Bachelor degree required. Master degree a plus especially in Geology or Geophysics.
Relocation: This position is not eligible for relocation.
Travel Requirements: The percentage of travel for this position is 0 - 10%.
Work Schedule: This position is eligible for the 9/80 work schedule.
